Opposites which ones are yours?

I can’t think of one thing that doesn’t have its opposite. Love, hate, black, white, rich, poor and so the list goes on.

Then there’s negative and positive.

You can see all the things that you don’t do but should, or you can see your great qualities and where you really shine.

You can believe that you are who you are and that you’re a passenger in life, or you can acknowledge that you were given freewill and that you can choose who you are and how you live moment to moment.

You can doubt yourself, your choices, that you are entitled to a happy successful life, or you can have faith that you will do what is right for you and that it will all work out exactly as it needs to.

You can spend time counting the losses or you can count the blessings.

You see all that stops you, holds you back from living the life that you want, being the person that you would like to be, alternatively, you can be free to see the opportunities that are in front of you and act upon them.

You can lie to and deceive yourself that your life, your relationship, your job is great when really there’s a void inside you, or you can be truthful and honest and take steps toward a life, a relationship, a career that fills you up.

You can feel your powerlessness and inability to make a difference in your life, the lives of others, the world, or you can focus on your strengths and abilities that will enable you to make changes no matter how small and know that at least you have made a difference for you, your loved ones and that one difference will affect the world.

You can hate that others have more than you and that you deserve more than this or you can feel joy about your life and all that it is and the knowing that there is so much more out there if you want it.

You can see the darkness and misery in your life, the world, you can see war and evil. Or you can find a reason to laugh at a situation and find that the world is really a great place full of people that live abundant and happy lives and that they are more loving and giving with each other than they are vengeful and angry. Light is always there if you want to see it.

Life always provides both options along with the freewill to choose at any given moment whether you see negative or positive.

You too are made up of all these opposites. You choose which ones you build upon based upon your beliefs and your life experiences. You are not a puppet for some force outside of yourself that creates good or bad experiences, people or countries these are all choices that have been taken, individually or collectively, consciously or unconsciously. The good news is that the only thing that stands between you and the life you dream about (if you choose to let yourself dream that is) is your acknowledgement that life is and always has been yours to see and create as you choose.

Have a good one

Build Your Building

In life be about building your own building, don’t waste time stopping to see what others are doing with theirs and certainly don’t spend time trying to pull another persons building down, it only ends up costing you valuable time, effort and energy that can be better served else where, on your own project may be.

Your building represents your life, your career, your relationships, either one of or all of these things.  The minute we look outside of ourselves at what others are doing we take our focus and our energy away from the creation of our own lives, we can become disheartened in our own endeavours if we perceive that someone else is doing it all better than us.

When we look outside ourselves we only ever see what we want to see, as something is only ever as WE perceive it to be.   Someone else’s life may appear much better than ours, we may think that they have more, are better organised, have more fun, can do more.  Know that all we ever see of anyone else is an outside construct and that there is always more going on hidden away that they are not comfortable for us to see.  We really don’t ever know what goes on behind closed doors or inside someone’s heart and mind, so that which we covet, or compare ourselves with is only an image of something.

No one else is completely together, in fact in my experience most people are just hanging on in there hoping and praying for the best and busy papering over cracks or with fingers in dykes hoping that the whole thing won’t give way.

Construct a building in your mind, it can be however you want it to be, a skyscraper, a mansion, really let your mind go on this one, (don’t let it wonder how your neighbours looks though ;-) ).  So whenever you are tempted to compare yourself or your life to another’s, stop right there, bring the image of your building back into focus and place your thoughts on the further construction of that building making it as big or as high and you want to.

This serves to bring your mind back to what is truly important.  When focused on your own building you are in touch with your creativity, your power to make changes and move forward, or may be just to stop and admire that which you’ve already created, because it’s yours to do with as you wish, you feel energised.

Happy building.
