OPINIONS
Be about something and stand by it, really others peoples opinions count for nothing in your world they aren’t even based on fact half the time. People are reacting to what they hear. They don’t question the validity of the information that they’re receiving. They just hear it, form an opinion based on their own view of the world and then without permission they share it with anyone and everyone around them who will listen.
Although these people are really listening they’re in a world of their own and so they too are busy forming opinions based on the information at hand.
NOTHING is as it seems, nothing at all. Really and truly, everything you do know is wrong.
Just because it’s on television, radio or in the papers doesn’t mean it’s true. It’s someone else’s opinion as is everything we are taught.
Someone is deemed to be an expert. They are an expert in whose eyes? I hear some absolute rubbish coming out of some ‘experts’ mouths. If you have a high enough qualification and your work relates to that subject, you’re declared an expert. The media loves an ‘expert’ as do governments. It makes the information appear valid and they don’t have to take responsibility for the publics’ reaction to that information. The majority don’t even question the validity of the so called experts information, let alone check it out, review their personal and work history which whether we like it or not does and will play out in their ‘opinions’.
Whoever we are, our values and belief systems come in to play in every part of our life. E.g. a devout practising Catholic would struggle to report without prejudice regarding the Buddhist faith. What they will do is look at it through their own understanding and then report through their view of it. Nothing and no one is ever impartial, the fact that they are a human being stops them from ever being impartial.
As in a court of law where the Defence or Prosecution wheel people in that will substantiate whatever they are claiming. They find the best person to back up the point that they are trying to make, regardless of whether they are the best in their field, if they are the ‘best’ but their views are detrimental to the case they aren’t used.
The only thing you can do is to become conscious in your world and as you go through life. That means think, really think hard about what you create an opinion about. If it’s based around what you’ve just read or heard via the media then your opinion is built on a house of cards, bias and untruths.
Before you make your opinion consider both sides and the fact that you won’t have been given all the information, the only information you will get then is that which other people want to give you. Now also bearing in mind they are generally invested in you perceiving them a certain way so they will ‘filter’ what you are told.
This goes on in what you have been taught at school. Science is changing everyday its beliefs and opinions about the world, the universe, humanity, yet unless we keep ourselves up to date with each new piece of information we are just dealing with our own outdated beliefs formed by that which we were taught years ago.
Making someone else’s opinion more important than ours because they have letters after their name or they have had their opinion in print leaves us wide open to manipulation by discarding our own beliefs and that which we somehow instinctively know to be right in order to not stand out and let the ‘expert’ be right.
Your being here affects the world, and your opinions can affect those around you, whether you know it or not, so if you’re going to form an opinion about something, make sure that you research your information, and that it has come from multiple sources (other than the media) before you declare it to be so, ensure that your contribution is a fair and just one.
