Law of Attractions Public Enemy Number 1

In the current climate we are under constant bombardment from fear based media.  We see, hear and read daily about war, financial cut-backs, failing health, violence, not to mention the trash mags ripping people to shreds over their looks, behaviour or fashion choices.  When did that become entertainment???  Ahhh don’t get me started.

With this daily pile of media sewage dished up to us is it any wonder that it doesn’t take much for our internal focus to change from one of abundance to one of lack.  Problem is to truly create we need to be operating from a place of love and leave fear behind.  That which is created through fear will never allay feelings of lack, which ultimately creates more fear.

We live in an abundant Universe, there is enough for everyone all we have to do is ask and it is ours.  As we have yet to learn instant manifestation then this abundance can take time to appear physically, which in a fear based world is no bad thing.  Imagine if every negative thought and/or image you had manifested instantly - scary doesn’t even begin to cover it.   There’s a saying that I use a lot, “Nature abhors a vacuum” - if you are not deliberately filling your reality with positivity it will get filled with something, and fear is the predominant filler of choice for the masses.

There are times when I myself am afraid to ask for what I want.  Having grown up with a mother who didn’t even have a glass, let alone a half empty one, discussing your dreams and asking for what you wanted, in any way, just caused major upset and opened the door to the inevitable diatribe about the harshness of life, the limitations of love, money and happiness.  This, of course, was all to ‘save me’ from the disappointment of seeing any overly high life expectations crushed on the reality of the world, so best learn not to ask in the first place.

So here I am many years later still finding myself hesitating at times when it comes to putting my Universal Abundance Request Form in for processing, despite so many times seeing it deliver.   So why am I still not reporting back to all and sundry about how much my cup permanently runneth over?

And here we find ourselves back at the beginning…fear.  On average my cup is full-ish, brimming over on a good day, and showing signs of evaporation on others.  I’m well rehearsed now in being able to identify the cause of the tide lines when they appear, they are the times when I am allowing fear in to my life, when I am taking life far too seriously.  May be it was because I allowed myself to dwell on a newspaper headline that I didn’t stop myself from reading, overhearing a news report before I could get to the off button, or stuck with a doom and gloom merchant whose drug of choice is listing all that is rotten in their life or the world. These things I have cut from my life but every now and again they sneak up and find me and if I’m not prepared my mind starts to dwell on what might be, it’s then the negative questions randomly start popping up in my mind.

“What if the recession gets worse instead of better?”

“What if it all gets worse out there?”

“What’s the point in me even starting to follow my dreams with all this going on?” blah blah blah

It’s called the What If game and depending on how it’s played as to how rotten you can make yourself feel.  Any time you are aware that you are in a state of fear, I’ll wager you’ve played your own version of the What If game.

Once you’ve identified that your perspective is being based on fear then it becomes about consciously choosing to focus back on the positive.  The negative will always be there but what a waste of this wonderful life, a brain that outstrips the worlds most powerful computers and a body fitted with all the senses required to experience the joys of life to the max.   It’s about being focused on a desire and the underlying emotion behind that focus.   All emotions are driven by one of two base emotions Fear or Love.  We know how life turns out when lived in fear, just look around you.

Love creates, fear immobilises/destroys.

For our lives to stand a chance of becoming something we must choose love to navigate through our life experiences.  There are things that we can do to keep us on that track that is akin to planning a road trip.

Know Your Destination

Invest time & create your life’s dream, the experiences you wish to have, the feelings you wish to feel.  Make it as big, colourful and as bold as you possibly can.  This is no time to hold back, it has to get you excited every time you think about it.  It has to fill you with feel good feelings, when you see yourself living it.  This can take time if you’re not used to doing it. I know it sounds daft, but it takes practise to allow ourselves to let go and feel that good over our dreams.

When On The Road

Focus is what this is about.  Keep your eye on the destination: Decide that you are going to go for it as far as your dreams are concerned, really what’s the alternative?  Live in fear, dream mediocre dreams if you even bother to have dreams at all?…I think not.

Commit to visiting your dream as often as is possible (Consult the Map) There are key times in which you need to do this.  The most important one is to have it handy for the moments that you realise you are operating from fear and pull it up in your mind as a counter measure.  There are many of the early advocates of positive thinking that suggest that first thing in the morning as you wake up and last thing at night as you are drifting off to sleep are when the mind is at its most powerful creatively.

Stay alert to when you are in fear mode, sometimes it’s insidious and we don’t even realise we’re feeling it.  As soon as you become conscious that you are in negativity go back and revisit your dream.  Your vision may not come to mind straight away but be persistent in viewing it and letting those good feelings flood your body.  Remember fear is only a state of mind.  Start taking charge and you decide the state.

If you get lost/sidetracked, keep your destination in mind and after a bathroom break and refreshments get back on the road no matter how long you stopped for.

There is a route that will get you to your destination.  This may be the Road Less Travelled, but rest assured there are others that have gone before you who will attest to the fact that if you keep at it you WILL absolutely get there.  Be open-minded to new routes if your planned one becomes too full of obstacles, but never give up on getting there.

Bon Voyage
